July Blog

 Nikki's blog for July

Hi there everyone,

It’s been an amazing few weeks for Sofie Enterprises, and so I thought I would share some of my own personal highlights.

Firstly, huge thanks to our fab web designers webboutiques, for creating this wonderful website for us. There were long hours and many frantic messages between us but we are so proud of what we have achieved in such an incredibly short time frame. BIG thanks to Ed, Tom & Caroline, I know how much passion you put into helping us achieve this.

So, Sofie Enterprises soft-launched with our website, our official launch is 4th July, but that didn’t stop us thinking about more webinars and meetings on subjects we feel are so relevant to the Covid19 world of business and entrepreneurs.

Sofie is all about connecting #beconnected and this month James and I have met (virtually via Zoom of course) so many incredible people who share our passion to create a better business community. What’s more they are generous enough to share their wisdom! This means that we have a wonderful programme of webinars going forwards. Of course, the important thing is accessibility, and membership of Sofie doesn’t break the bank. In fact, it is less than a cup of take-away coffee every week!

It really makes sense to join us, meet fellow business owners and entrepreneurs and start to experience the Sofie way of developing your business and creating a bonded community. #beenterprising

Our first webinar this month was on a subject you might think unusual given the lockdown effect on businesses, ‘Selling your Business’, but as our expert panellists Wendy Hart,  Dominic Marlow & our own James Hunt revealed it is perhaps more relevant than ever to get your business in tip top shape and consider your future and that of your business.

For our second webinar ‘Driving Growth and Taking your Team with you’ we brought together Dave Morris, Robert Burns and Ian Woollard. The subject generated great interest and our Breakout Rooms were buzzing, they brought back to the main session some really pertinent and probing questions – just what we like! And, our panellists were ready to give their considered advice.

Our next event will be the Witney Business Breakfast meeting on 16th July where we enter once again the discussion of how business and education can work together to create meaningful connections and further the aspirations of young people through Apprenticeships & Internships. We are holding an open forum discussion and it promises to be as inspiring and thought-provoking as our June webinar on this subject.

Remember all webinars are FREE to members

Our latest new initiative is Sound Out Sofie - or S.O.S for short! This is a new FREE service for all business people who are facing the awful consequences of the Covid19 pandemic - you don't even have to be a member!. We have created the opportunity for you to share, confidentially of course, your business concerns with a sympathetic ear. We will discuss your worries and issues and act as a sounding board to help you come to a plan of action for moving your business forward. Don't fret alone, don't agonise over decisions, don't feel there are no options - call S.O.S and we will do our best to help!

Finally, James and I have not been idle in thinking about creating our community and really making a difference. We have decided, that with lockdown easing and, the world getting just a little bit more back to normal, we want to meet our members in person – crazy idea I know, but we couldn’t resist the chance to have a party.  And so, our Sofie’s Summer Party was born! We are inviting our members and sponsors to an evening of fizz and mingling at the gorgeous Hedsor House.  Masks will be optional!!

So if you don’t want to miss out on a fabulous evening, make sure you get your membership sorted! #bebold

I hope you all have a successful July, whether you are opening up again or have never shut, Sofie salutes you all, and is standing beside you for the next steps.

Kind regards

Nikki
